CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS
• Dancers must participate within the school rules and respect all the teachers/staff and their decisions.
• Dancers must respect their fellow school pupils/students.
• Dancers must arrive for training on time or inform reception if they are going to be late.
• Dancers must not distract, bully or harass other pupils/students during the class.
• Dancers must not use bad language.
• Dancers must be polite and display good manners at all times.
• Dancers must treat all equipment with respect.
• Dancers must wear the Connect Studios uniform and order after 4 weeks of attending the school.
• All body jewellery must be removed.
• Long hair must be tied back.
• Food, drink and chewing gum are strictly prohibited in the studio (dancers may bring a sealed drinking bottle in the hall/gym but it must only contain water and must have the dancer’s name on).
• All litter must be placed in the bins provided.
• Please leave all valuables at home – Connect Studios will not be held responsible for the loss of any items.
• Mobile phones and other electronic devices must be switched off in the studios and handed in at reception.
• Dancers must inform the Dance Teacher before the warm up begins if they have an injury or illness.
• Dancers must inform their teacher immediately if they begin to feel ill or sustain an injury during the class.
• Dancers must remain with teachers at the end of the class until they are safely collected by their parent or guardian.
Training Exclusivity
To protect the quality and consistency of training, students enrolled at Connect Studios must not attend another dance school or organisation offering the same or similar classes to those provided by Connect Studios.
No associate programmes or company classes are to be attended if Connect Studios operates at the same time, nor can students cancel Connect Studios classes to attend elsewhere. If you wish to join a company class over your training, then Connect Studios is not the right school for you – don’t run before you can walk.
Connect Studios aims to ensure that your child’s training is nurtured, focused, and consistent.
Any private lessons outside of Connect Studios must be discussed with and approved by Michael (Principal) prior to booking. Private lessons taken elsewhere without communication or permission may result in termination of your child’s place at Connect Studios.
• FINALLY, ALL DANCERS MUST ENTER THE CLASS WITH A SMILE AND HAVE FUN!!
DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURE
• Dancers that breach the code of conduct will first of all be reminded of the rules.
• Repeatedly breaching the code of conduct may result in separation from other pupils/students.
• Continuous breach of the code of conduct will result in the parents being informed at the end of the class by the Teacher/principals to discuss the situation.
If there is no improvement, then parents/guardians will be contacted by the principals and invited to discuss the future behaviour of their child and agree joint strategies for monitoring. In extreme cases where physical violence, verbal abuse or intentional damage to property is involved, the sequence of actions outlined above will be by-passed and principals will contact the parents/guardians as a first step.
Exclusion of the child from the school may be considered.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PARENTS / GUARDIANS
Connect Studios is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all dancers, members and staff associated with the school. To ensure the effective running of our Dance Studio and to protect all individuals connected with the school it is important that the following codes of conduct are read, respected and adhered to at all times:
• Encourage your child to learn the rules and perform within them.
• Arrive with plenty of time to get your child ready for their class and ensure they have been to the toilet before the session begins - Always inform the Dance Teacher if you are going to be late.
• Always ensure your child is dressed appropriately with long hair tied up and make sure they have had plenty to drink.
• No Parent/Guardian will be allowed into the hall/studio during classes.
• Discourage challenging and inappropriate conduct towards teachers and other students.
• Help your child to recognise good performance and progression.
• Discourage comparison against other students - Each dancer is an individual with different goals and objectives and they must be praised on their own personal achievement.
• Set a good example within the dancer’s environment by recognizing good sportsmanship and applauding good performances of all.
• Use correct and proper language at all times. NO swearing on the grounds of Connect Studios.
• Encourage and guide your child to accept responsibility for their own performance and behaviour.
• Keep the Dance Teacher informed if your child is ill or unable to attend classes.
• Endeavour to establish good communications with the school, teachers and staff for the benefit of all.
• Never challenge or threaten a teacher or member of the Connect Studios team. Any concerns must follow the approved channels as outlined.
• Do not raise issues of disagreement publicly.
• Always collect your child promptly at the end of a class.
• Always support your child's involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.
Please understand that breach of this code of conduct may have repercussions and in extreme cases may result in your child/children losing their place at the school.
Lockdown/ Pandemic
If we are ever to go into a national lockdown or a pandemic preventing us from doing face-to-face classes, you agree to continue with our service using online platforms such as Zoom and continue with your invoice payments.
FEES
- Payment Due Dates
- All fees must be paid no later than the Friday before each half-term begins. Failure to meet this deadline may result in additional charges as outlined below.
- Term Payment Options
- For students attending one or two classes per week, payment for the full term is required in advance. For students enrolled in three or more classes per week, fees may be paid in full at the start of the term or split into two instalments, the other payment paid no later than four weeks into the term. Please contact us for assistance in setting up a split payment arrangement if needed. If your termly fees are not paid, exam fees, show fees and private lessons cannot be paid for or booked. Term time fees should always take priority.
- Late Payment Fees
- If fees are not received by the second week of term, a 10% late fee will be applied to the outstanding balance on the invoice.
- Non-Refundable Policy
- Fees are payable in advance for each term (generally every 7 to 8 weeks, depending on the term structure). Once the term has commenced, all fees are strictly non-refundable, regardless of any missed classes due to personal circumstances, illness, or other absences. In the case of prolonged absence due to a documented medical condition, please discuss potential options with the principal.
- Absences and Holidays
- We kindly request that all holidays be scheduled during times when the school is closed to minimize disruptions to your child’s learning. If holidays are taken during term time, fees will remain due for any missed classes.
- Scholarships and Discounts
- If your child receives a scholarship from the school, additional discounts will be applied to their account as part of the membership. Please speak with us if you have any questions regarding scholarship terms.
- Notice of Withdrawal
- Invoices are issued 14 days prior to the start of each term. You may cancel or adjust any classes up until the first day of the term commencing without incurring charges. If the term has commenced and you decide to withdraw your child after the payment deadline or after the Sunday prior to term starting, you will still be required to pay for all classes scheduled for that term, regardless of attendance.
- You may, however, exchange classes (subject to availability) during the term, but you cannot terminate your child’s place once the term has started.
- External Training and Class Exclusivity
- Students enrolled at Connect Studios are expected to commit fully to their training within the school. To maintain consistency and ensure high-quality progression, students must not attend another dance school or organisation offering the same or similar classes to those provided by Connect Studios.
- No associate programmes or company classes should be attended if they take place at the same time as Connect Studios classes, nor should students cancel Connect Studios classes to attend elsewhere. If you wish to prioritise another company class over your training, then Connect Studios may not be the right school for you, don’t run before you can walk.
- Any private lessons outside of Connect Studios must be discussed with and approved by Michael (Principal) in advance. Private lessons taken elsewhere without permission or prior communication may result in termination of your child’s place at Connect Studios.
- Communication and Billing Inquiries
- Please address any questions or concerns about billing, payment options, or fees to our administrative team. You can reach us via email, and we are here to assist with any financial questions.
- Payment Methods
- We accept payments by bank transfer, cash or through the Class for Kids platform. Payment details will be provided on your invoice. If you experience any difficulties in making a payment, please inform us promptly so that we can assist.
MEMBERSHIPS
Discounts are available for individual children attending 6 or more classes per week.
Discounts are available for siblings attending 8 or more classes combined per week.
Strict policy: If fees are not paid – NO ENTRY WILL BE GRANTED TO CLASS.
